【摘要】:Newandusedpetroleumproducts,biodieselandblendsofbiodieselmaycontainacidicconstituentsthatarepresentasadditivesorasdegradationproductsformedduringservice,suchasoxidationproducts.Therelativeamountofthesematerialscanbedeterminedbytitratingwithbases.Theacidnumberisameasureofthisamountofacidicsubstanceintheoil,alwaysundertheconditionsofthetest.Theacidnumberisusedasaguideinthequalitycontroloflubricatingoilformulations.Itisalsosometimesusedasameasureoflubricantdegradationinservice.Anycondemninglimitsmustbeempiricallyestablished.Sinceavarietyofoxidationproductscontributetotheacidnumberandtheorganicacidsvarywidelyincorrosionproperties,thetestmethodcannotbeusedtopredictcorrosivenessofoilorbiodieselandblendsunderserviceconditions.Nogeneralcorrelationisknownbetweenacidnumberandthecorrosivetendencyofbiodieselandblendsoroilstowardmetals.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforthedeterminationofacidicconstituentsinpetroleumproducts,lubricants,biodieselandblendsofbiodiesel.1.1.1TestMethodA8212;Forpetroleumproductsandlubricantssolubleornearlysolubleinmixturesoftolueneandpropan-2-ol.Itisapplicableforthedeterminationofacidswhosedissociationconstantsinwaterarelargerthan10-9;extremelyweakacidswhosedissociationconstantsaresmallerthan10-9donotinterfere.Saltsreactiftheirhydrolysisconstantsarelargerthan10-9.Therangeofacidnumbersincludedintheprecisionstatementis0.1mg/gKOHto150mg/gKOH.1.1.2TestMethodB8212;Developedspecificallyforbiodieselandbiodieselblendswithlowacidityandslightlydifferentsolubility.Thistestmethodrequirestheuseofanautomatictitratorwithautomaticendpointseekingcapability.Note18212;Innewandusedoils,theconstituentsthatmaybeconsideredtohaveacidiccharacteristicsincludeorganicandinorganicacids,esters,phenoliccompounds,lactones,resins,saltsofheavymetals,saltsofammoniaandotherweakbases,acidsaltsofpolybasicacids,andadditionagentssuchasinhibitorsanddetergents.1.2Thetestmethodmaybeusedtoindicaterelativechangesthatoccurinoilduringuseunderoxidizingconditionsregardlessofthecolororotherpropertiesoftheresultingoil.Althoughthetitrationismadeunderdefiniteequilibriumconditions,thetestmethodisnotintendedtomeasureanabsoluteacidicpropertythatcanbeusedtopredictperformanceofoilunderserviceconditions.Nogeneralrelationshipbetweenbearingcorrosionandacidnumberisknown.Note28212;TheacidnumberobtainedbythisstandardmayormaynotbenumericallythesameasthatobtainedinaccordancewithTestMethodsD974andD3339.Therehasnotbeenanyattempttocorrelatethismethodwithothernon-titrationmethods.Note38212;AfewlaboratorieshavemadetheobservationthatthereisadifferenceinTestMethodD664resultswhenaqueousversusnonaqueousbuffersareused.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,......
