【摘要】:Lubricatinggreasesareusedinalmostallbearingsusedinanymachinery.Lubricatinggreaseiscomposedof~90%additizedoilandsoaporotherthickeningagent.Thereareoveradozenmetallicelementspresentingreases,eitherblendedasadditivesforperformanceenhancementsorasthickeners,orinusedgreasespresentascontaminantsandwearmetals.Determiningtheirconcentrationscanbeanimportantaspectofgreasemanufacture.Themetalcontentcanalsoindicatetheamountofthickenersinthegrease.Additionally,areliableanalysistechniquecanalsoassistintheprocessoftroubleshootingproblemswithnewandusedgreaseinthefield.Althoughwidelyusedinothersectorsoftheoilindustryformetalanalysis,ICP-AESbasedTestMethodsD4951orD5185cannotbeusedforanalyzinggreasesbecauseoftheirinsolubilityinorganicsolventsusedinthesetestmethods.Hence,greasesamplesneedtobebroughtintoaqueoussolutionbyaciddecompositionbeforeICP-AESmeasurements.TestMethodD3340hasbeenusedtodeterminelithiumandsodiumcontentoflubricatinggreasesusingflamephotometry.Thistechniqueisnolongerwidelyused.Thisnewtestmethodprovidesatestmethodformulti-elementanalysisofgreasesamples.ThisisthefirstDO2standardavailableforsimultaneousmulti-elementanalysisoflubricatinggreases.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofanumberofmetalssuchasaluminum,antimony,barium,calcium,iron,lithium,magnesium,molybdenum,phosphorus,silicon,sodium,sulfur,andzincinunusedlubricatinggreasesbyinductivelycoupledplasmaatomicemissionspectrometry(ICP-AES)technique.1.1.1Therangeofapplicabilityforthistestmethod,basedontheinterlaboratorystudyconductedin2005,isaluminum(10-600),antimony(10-2300),barium(50-800),calcium(20-50000),iron(10-360),lithium(300-3200),magnesium(30-10000),molybdenum(50-22000),phosphorus(50-2000),silicon(10-15000),sodium(30-1500),sulfur(1600-28000),andzinc(300-2200),allinmg/kg.Lowerlevelsofelementsmaybedeterminedbyusinglargersampleweights,andhigherlevelsofelementsmaybedeterminedbyusingsmalleramountsofsampleorbyusingalargerdilutionfactoraftersampledissolution.However,thetestprecisioninsuchcaseshasnotbeendetermined,andmaybedifferentthantheonesgiveninTable1.1.1.2Itmayalsobepossibletodetermineadditionalmetalssuchasbismuth,boron,cadmium,chromium,copper,lead,manganese,potassium,titanium,etc.bythistechnique.However,notenoughdataisavailabletospecifytheprecisionfortheselatterdeterminations.Thesemetalsmayoriginateintogreasesthroughcontaminationorasadditiveelements.1.1.3Duringsamplepreparation,thegreasesamplesaredecomposedwithavarietyofacidmixture(s).Itisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethodtospecifyappropriateacidmixturesforallpossiblecombinationofmetalspresentinthesample.Butiftheashdissolutionresultsinanyvisibleinsolublematerial,thetestmethodmaynotbeapplicableforthetypeofgreasebeinganalyzed,assumingtheinsolublematerialcontainssomeoftheanalytesofinterest.1.2Elementspresentatconcentrationsabovetheupperlimitofthecalibrationcurvescanbedeterminedwithadditionalappropriatedilutionsofdissolvedsamplesandwithnodegradationofprecision.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationsp......
